Trigger Finger: A Brisk Evening Jog

Here’s something you don’t see everyday. Treadmills on the sidewalk. These puppies are brand spankin’ new and are now being delivered to The Rock gym on 31st street in Astoria.

Now that its below freezing in New York, I’ve left indoor tredmills alone in favor of fresh-air jogging. You might think I’m strange and ass-backwards, but I loathe exercising in the summer humidity. I prefer crisp air filling my lungs under a warm sweatsuit. The only thing that’s irritating is the 8mph wind stinging your face. (Its 8mph because that’s my pace. If the wind is blowing towards me, its even worse). No one likes snot bubbles bubbling from one’s nostrils. An outdoor treadmill would likely solve this problem if strategicly placed in one’s back-yard. Boom! You get to run in the cold and your nose doesn’t. I’m just sayin’. it would make a nice Christmas gift.

It still doesn’t quite make sense to me how running at 8mph on a treadmill doesn’t cause you to feel the wind in your face…..I mean I know why, but the caveman part of my brain wants there to a breeze
